Valve has improved CS2’s performance when exploding chickens.

On the night of January 30th, a small patch was released for Counter-Strike 2. With it, the developers fixed some bugs and made other improvements. The patch notes were published on the official CS2 blog.

List of changes:

  • Damage from a Frag Grenade that detonates in mid-air near the ground will no longer be calculated as if the explosion occurred on the surface.
  • Various changes have been made to knife sounds.
  • Optimized performance when chickens explode.
  • Fixed a bug when creating scripts on maps due to which Entity.SetOwner did not take the value undefined.
  • A way to save settings has been added for custom maps. When entering the host_writeconfig_with_prompt command, the game will ask for permission to save. If you agree, some settings (radar, etc.) will be saved after exiting the map. Users who have logged into the map will be notified of the changed settings.
  • The list of allowed console commands has been limited for custom maps.
  • The Stronghold map has been updated to the latest version from the Steam Workshop.

A patch was previously released for CS2 that addressed the Molotov and incendiary grenades. Valve also addressed several other bugs.
