In CS2, Anubis was reworked, knife sounds were changed, movement was improved, and submachine guns were made cheaper.

On the night of January 22nd, Counter-Strike 2 developers released an update for the shooter, kicking off the fourth season of Premier mode. A new version of the Anubis map was added, the MP7, MP5-SD, and PP-Bizon were reduced in price, and new skins were released. The patch was over 8 GB in size, and Valve shared information about it on the Counter-Strike 2 Steam page.

List of updates and innovations:

  • The fourth season of Premier mode has begun.
  • Anubis has been added to the active card pool.
  • Train has been removed from the active map pool.
  • Ranks in Competitive Mode have been adjusted. Existing ranks are now obsolete. Ranks will reappear once the player has reached the required number of wins.
  • The MP7 and MP5-SD have had their damage slightly increased, their damage falloff decreased, and their price reduced by $100.
  • The price of PP-Bizon has been reduced by $100.
  • Landing time after a jump is now calculated with an accuracy of fractions of a second.
  • Jumping and landing no longer impact stamina. The landing speed penalty is now a simple function of landing time.
  • Any jump button press within the sv_bhop_time_window centered on the landing time that was not penalized by the sv_jump_spam_penalty_time value will be considered a successful bunnyhop.
  • The old jumping behavior can be restored on private servers using the sv_legacy_jump command.
  • Improved the accuracy of sounds for knife drawing and inspection.
  • Weapon, knife, and tool draw sounds no longer overlap when quickly switching between them.
  • Knife strike sounds are now unique depending on the primary or secondary attack, as well as front and rear attacks. This reflects the difference in damage dealt by each attack.
  • Two brand new weapon collections have been added to the list of items that can be obtained from the weekly rewards system: “Harlequin” and “Achroma”.
  • The Dust2, Nuke 2018, Inferno 2018, and Safehouse weapon collections have been removed from the list of items obtainable through the weekly rewards system.
  • Added new limited edition AK-47 | Aphrodite skin.
  • Improved realism for AK-47, MP7, AWP, USP-S and other weapons.
  • Fixed some cases where the player would collide with edges when sliding down a ramp in Surf mode.
  • Fixed some minor texture breakage in the Butterfly animation.
  • Removed Golden, Palacio, Agency and Rooftop maps from all game modes.
  • Added Warden, Stronghold Alpine, Sanctum and Poseidon maps.
  • Changes to the Anubis map.

Players also noted that the models now move similarly to those in CS:GO, although the developers didn’t mention these changes in the patch notes. Some content creators say the game has become much more responsive.
